Playing The Hand Dealt

Well, it's no secret to those who fish Steelhead on the Alley, that this Spring has been like playing cards. The deck has been shuffled and the cards have hit the table time and again.

Just a couple of days ago, the rain fell yet again making for unfavorable conditions. That made the upcoming day one card short of a poker game. However, we had our poker faces on and looked for the flop with confidence. As luck would have it, time on the local waters paid off and the last minute call to fish paid well.

Bill hits a fresher hen about 10 minutes into the day.

We hope that the Ohio waters will dial back in soon so that we can all get back to chasing Manistees. Until then, keep your eyes on the gauges and give us a shout if you want to try and get out. For the next couple of days, Greg will be out of phone contact as he tends to some work at the Brook Trout Retreat. If you need reports or want to book a trip, please give me a shout on my cell 419-348-7199 and I will be happy to help you out.
