Saved For A Rainy Day...

The rains have come, Thanksgiving is gone, and the change over to winter is underway. The bad news is that all the streams are blown as big as we have seen them all fall. The good news is that fish have been coming in with every push of water we have had in the last two weeks. At present, we have more fish in our streams than we have had the entire season. A lot of bright, chromed out fish are being caught in between the storms when water levels allow and we are totally jazzed about it!!!
I have been so busy in the last couple of weeks, that I haven't even had a chance to get a blog done, so while I take a couple of days off to wait on the rivers to redial, I thought I would get us caught up. Greg has been doing his best to keep things rolling on the blog and for that we thank him, but every once in a while, it is good for me to get on here and write a bit for myself.
This blog will highlight some of the photos from our world-class team of fly fishing professionals in the last week or so. In the next few days however, I am going to try to write up a blog or two highlighting a handful of my clients from the last couple of weeks and share some stories in a bit more detail. I don't know about you, but I like to hear stories from time to time!

In closing, keep your eyes on the fly shop page as holiday specials will be posted soon. If you are in need of some custom ties or some of the old stand by's, we can have you covered for Christmas...and at holiday season pricing! Order soon to beat the rush.
Also, don't forget that a lot of fresh fish have pushed in and Ohio is finally fishing good numbers of fish. Pennsylvania is fishing very well as it has most of the fall. If you are interested in getting out before ice up, give us a shout. Now is as good a time as we have seen all season as far as numbers are concerned, so don't miss out. Give us a call us at 888-453-5899 or email us at team@steelheadalleyoutfitters.com.
I'll be back in a day or two with some new stories from the waters of the Alley.

Once In A Life Time!

Every once in a while luck comes together just perfectly to create a memory that will last a life time! Ken and Keith Young have fished with me for many years and have had many memorable trips. To be stream side with this family has become more than just a guide trip for me. To see Ken Young at age 82 land the largest brown trout of his lifetime, and his son Keith Young land his largest Steelhead ever, at the same time from two different pools was more than I could handle. I do know that Tim Hess and I were privileged to be a part of such a special feat, and I doubt we will see it duplicated the remainder our guiding days.....

We are guiding steady everyday and will have more of our trip photos and river stories very soon...

Sincerely,

Greg Senyo & Tim Hess

Smile We Have Water! Steelhead Alley River Report...

The Pennsylvania tributaries are starting to look good and fresh steelhead are on the move! I am sure it will be crazy with anglers starting tomorrow, but who cares it's just nice to see good flows and a fresh push of new fish. We still have some rain in the forecast, and a chance for a little snow falling tonight. Hopefully the streams will maintain steady flows for a couple of days.

The Ohio tributaries are on the drop, but several of the streams are along way off from being fishable this weekend. Check the flow gauges on the smaller tributaries and make your plans accordingly. Ohio has been very challenging this fall and we are hoping this is the water needed to entice a good push of steelhead into the systems.

We have been very busy as a team, and it's another early day tomorrow, so we will keep this short and sweet. When we have a bit more time, we will share a good story with you. Until then, here are some more highlight photos from our trips the last couple of days.
