Yesterday was anything but typical. We spent the evening before praying that the rain would turn to snow, but be careful what you ask for....you just might get it. The snow wasn't anything big, it was what the temperatures did that affected things.
We had spent the day before on large numbers of fish, and when the streams elevated a bit and the temperatures dropped, fish went on the move big time!!!
Yesterday we spent the day chasing fish which was a challenge at best for most everyone we spoke with. Fish were caught, but it wasn't what you would consider a banner day. Nevertheless, our clients were very hard workers and they did everything they could to get the job done!
Here are a few photos from the last couple days....

Day two was the challenge day, but challenges are good for all of us, guides or not. We believe that a true day of fishing makes you a better fisherman. This was one of those days. You had to work for your fish! There weren't a lot of gimme's today....but our guys came through with fish. Here are a couple of snapshots....

With numerous guides on the water the last couple of days, we have been very busy and are staying that way. We are hoping to see more fish as the ice on the lake continues to thaw and get out of the way. We still have the peak of our season yet to come, so if you are looking for a first class fly fishing experience on Steelhead Alley, give us a shout.
