Well it has been a good start going into the month of November! Pods of fish are scattered nicely throughout both the Ohio and PA Tributaries of Lake Erie! Fishing conditions on the other hand have been on a downward spiral since our last rain fall... Low and clear conditions are making fish very spooky, and at times very difficult to catch. All the guides are working extremely hard to find fish, and at times covering a ton of river miles to find fresh pods.
Hopefully we get a boost of rain in the coming days and the river conditions improve enough to move in fresh fish. I hope its not just me but it seems like its getting cold pretty early on, and it feels like old man winter is knocking on the door! Some areas of our tributaries are already seeing light icing along the banks in the mornings... Here are some of our recent trip pictures from this fall! I hope you enjoy them and we will have more in the next blog. We would like to thank everyone we have had the pleasure of fishing with so far! We really enjoyed all of your company and appreciate that you have chosen us to share in a few great days of fly fishing for Lake Erie steelhead!
Our first annual steelhead school in conjunction with Orvis Cleveland was a huge success! You can read our update and see the pictures of the event in the next few days in the fly fishing schools section of this blog. A big thank you to all those who attended, to Ham Biggar for allowing us use of the cabin at CCC, Jim Lampros, John Miller, and Brett McCrae for instructing and participating in such a great event! I am sure Jim will have dates together for a spring school in the next couple of months...
