We're On The Fly... Next Stop Alaska!

It's hard to believe that August is here already! For Myself and 14 other gentleman this coming Friday has been met with some serious anticipation and preparation for our long awaited journey to King Salmon, Alaska. First I would like to thank everyone for their bookings, fly orders, and for understanding the delay of completion due to this trip. As soon as I return all orders will be completed and sent out asap. In the mean time if you need assistance with fly orders, booking a fall steelhead trip, or just have a question, please contact SAO Head Guide Patrick Robinson at 419-348-7199 or flybum@windstream.net

Recently I had a chance to guide at the Mertensia Springs Trout & Conservation Club. Every time I guide there I fall more and more in love with the fact we can use, and be extremely successful with ultra light fly tackle! Even though the day was blistering hot, the stream temps were cool, and the fishing was as fun as fly fishing gets! Multiple species were brought to hand and released to fight another day...

SAO Guide Mike Schultz has had a heavy warm water schedule fly fishing Lake Erie's western tributaries and lake shore for Carp, Smallmouth, and even night time Channel Cats on the fly!

If your into tying tubes for Bass and a multitude of warm water species, check out Jerry Darkes latest article "Tube Flies for Warm Water" in the latest edition of American Angler Magazine!

Jerry take a turn on the paddle, while Brian takes a crack at a good bass with a " Swimmy Jimmy" streamer.

The whole team was also down to our Pennsylvania Brook Trout Retreat for a stream Clean up, a few restoration projects, and to cut fire wood for the upcoming retreats. Well we couldn't help but throw a line or two as well. We were very glad we did!

As you can see, the team is staying extremely busy! We'll have more from Tim, Brett, John, and the rest of SAO here shortly. Stay tuned as our steelhead season is right around the corner, and we are eager to get after them!

Until next time, tight lines.....we are headed north!!!!
