In the last blog, I said I was going to make it brief, because I would be gone for a couple of days on the water along with several of our fellow guides. Well, as situations would have it, I made it home today as opposed to staying up on the Alley, so I thought another blog entry would be in order even though I don't have the other guides photos due to them staying on location for the night.
I don't know about you, but a chance to sleep in your own bed after a long day of Steelheading is always a good proposition in my opinion!
Today we had the opportunity to guide a great return group from the Reel Women Reel Men club from Indianapolis, Indiana. We have been fishing them every spring and fall for years now and it is always a highlight of our season!
Today, my clients were guys who were bit by the Steelhead bug last spring. They enjoyed their time enough the first time, that they had to get back and give it another shot only this time in the fall fishery. It was a great start to a multiple day trip...
John got things started as the sun was breaching the horizon....
John with a colored up buck. He had the battle
scars to prove the challenge of his migration.
Not long after John got started, Rob hit his stride and went on a very nice roll for the morning. Nice job, Rob! You got some very nice fish on day one and I hope you get even nicer ones tomorrow.
Rob gets the skunk off with a healthy hen.
As if one nice fresh hen, Rob decided to go bigger and better.
This hen was full of eggs and spunk!
The morning was a bit overcast which helped the fishing conditions! Later in the day, with the sun high in the sky, the clouds dissipated and blue skies prevailed. Needless to say, the fish seemed to less than thrilled by this. However, we continued on and did the best we could with the conditions we were dealt!
Rob poses with a great hen!
Come back when you get bigger, I would love to catch
you with a few more pounds and a nice payload!
Tomorrow the guys are back out with Rob, John and the whole Reel Women Reel Men club. We will have a couple of other trips running as well, so perhaps we will see you on the water!
Until then, tight lines!
